A novel carbon paste electrode based on nitrogen-doped hydrothermal carbon for electrochemical determination of carbendazim

Abstract: In this work, a new carbon paste electrode, prepared from nitrogen- -doped hydrothermal carbon (CHTCN) was applied for the electrochemical detection and determination of carbendazim fungicide. CHTCN samples with the nominal nitrogen content 0.05?0.5 wt. % in glucose precursor were prepared by simple, low-cost synthesis with the accompanying carbonization to 1273 K. The presence of nitrogen in CHTCN samples was confirmed by elemental analysis. Characterization of CHTCN as material for carbon paste electrode was… Show more

“…Additionally, in B-R buffer pH 11.98, oxidation peak of CBZ did not appear probably due to more pronounced instability of target analyte in highly alkaline solutions. 64 However, TBACl-CPE provides CBZ determination in wider pH range in comparison with earlier reported methods, where voltammetric measurements were performed till pH 8.0, 41,42,44,46,63,65,66 pH 9.0 31,32,47 and pH 10.0. 67,68 Furthermore, corresponding E p -pH dependence (inset, Fig.…”

“…These findings are in good agreement with earlier reported methods where CBZ was also adsorbed at negative values of E acc for certain t acc in acidic media confirming that CBZ was in mainly positively charged form under investigated experimental conditions. 44,63,65,66 Comparison of SWV and SW-AdSV methods for CBZ determination.-After basic optimization steps and using TBACl-CPE, direct SWV and SW-AdSV methods were developed for CBZ determination in model solution (pH 5.0) prior to its analysis in selected samples. The direct anodic SWV determination of CBZ was based on the linear relationship between the I p and CBZ concentration from 2.5 to 280.0 ng ml −1 , as it can be seen from the recorded voltammograms presented in Fig.…”

“…Phenol can affect the taste and smell of drinking water with concentrations limit mg/ L. The surface of carbon paste electrode is easily modified so widely used in the electrochemical field because of its low cost, wide potential range, low background current, and minimum sample used in the measurement. Modification of the surface electrode by the electrochemical technique is developed due to selective and sensitive determination of phenol [4][5][6][7]. Electrochemical modification on the electrode surface can be done by several techniques.…”
