A Novel Application of Nano Anticontamination Technology for Outdoor High‐Voltage Ceramic Insulators

Abstract: A novel application of a nano-sized titanium dioxide (TiO 2 ) photocatalyst for improving the performance of the ceramic insulator under contaminated conditions is proposed in this paper. The TiO 2 -coated insulator was prepared by spraying a certain amount of TiO 2 sol on the ceramic insulator followed by subsequent calcination. The physical and chemical properties of the TiO 2 film were studied and their influences on the self-cleaning and electrical performances of the ceramic insulator were evaluated. Comp… Show more

“…For preparation of TiO2 coating insulator some amount of TiO2 was sprayed on ceramics insulator and then it is followed by calcination. The results revealed that TiO2 coated insulators has excellent photo-induces performance and have enhanced self-cleaning ability in pollution as compared to uncoated insulators [37]. Hence, it is proved that nanoparticles coated insulators establishing a promising era to prevent insulator from heavy pollution and enhance electrical properties.…”
