In retrieving process in angle multiplexing Holographic Data Storage(HDS), It is important to search the exact recording angles. In this paper, we propose the retrieving angle searching method using pre-scan. Pre-scan method is means that rotating the galvano mirror before the retrieving process. Therefore, retrieving signals are maximized when between the galvano mirror and recoded angle are exactly matched. Through the measured signals, we will find the exact angle and compensate tangential tilt angle. The experimental results shows propose method is enough to apply the HDS.

Practical optical system design taking into account environmental factors is highly desirable. However it is in general a time consuming process which requires a massive iterations of numerical simulations. This is also one of the bottle necks of optical design for angular multiplexed holographic data storage system. To develop a practical method to evaluate effect of vibrations on signal quality, three-dimensional vibration model is developed which enables evaluation of vibration effect on normalized intensity level by using a single statistical figure of merit. Such single figure of meritis adopted to design a robust and efficient write strategy. The write strategy is applicable for wide range of vibration waveforms to increase write data transfer rate. Also optimum optical system parameters for angular multiplexed and monocular optical system are identified while maximizing tolerances of vibrations by applying the developed method. We propose NA 0.54 and pixel pitch 6.9m which can improve capacity and data transfer rate to 119% and 110% respectively compared to NA 0.6 reference design while keeping vibration margin as nearly identical to that of the reference design.

Abstract-The recording performance of data-storage devices, in which write/read elements move relative to a storage medium to reliably store and retrieve information, depends on the capability of servo mechanisms to provide the necessary positioning accuracy. The desired characteristics of servo mechanisms for datastorage systems include robustness against variations of environmental parameters, high resolution, accuracy, stability, and fast response. This paper presents a comprehensive overview of advanced servo-control methods for data storage. The applications are to well-established recording technologies, including magnetic tape and magnetic disk systems as well as CD/DVD/Blue-Ray optical data-storage systems. Moreover, newer holographic and nearfield optical systems and the emerging probe-storage technology are also addressed. Emphasis is given to the potential exhibited by the technologies considered for achieving ultra-high storage capacity, as required by the exploding demand in data-storage capacity for archival systems and massive multimedia data storage.Index Terms-Control systems, hard-disk drive, holographic data storage, optical-disk drive, scanning-probe data storage, servomechanism, tape drive.
