The optically pumped cesium magnetometer is a quantum magnetometer based on the Zeeman effect. The frequency of the output Larmor signal is proportional to the magnetic field intensity. Therefore, improving the measurement accuracy of the Larmor frequency can make the magnetic field measurement more accurate. However, the Larmor signal is easily coupled with various randomly distributed noises, which will generate an unavoidable trigger error. To address the above problem, we propose a multi-gate and equal-precision fusion method. In this method, the trigger error is averaged into the count of each small gate through the multi-gate structure to improve the frequency measurement accuracy and the continuous sampling performance. We implemented this method on the FPGA and conducted indoor and outdoor experiments. The experimental results show that this method not only improves the measurement accuracy by three times of the traditional method, but also enhances the stability and noise suppression ability of the system, and can provide technical and instrumental support for magnetic field measurement projects.

In this paper, in order to estimate the meshing frequencies of a gearbox online, based on its vibration signal, an adaptive notch filter with a normalized lattice structure is proposed as an estimator. The notch filter exhibits a high degree of robustness and a low level of estimation errors, due to the minimal dynamic range of the node energies of the normalized lattice structure. A novel lattice recursive least square (NLRLS) algorithm, which introduces a correlation value between the vibration signal and the output signal of the estimation filter into the LRLS algorithm, is used as the adaptive algorithm for the notch filter. Theoretical analysis and simulation results show that the NLRLS algorithm exhibits greater stability than the LRLS algorithm for vibration signals where prior information is lacking. The meshing frequency estimation experiment is performed on a two-stage gearbox experimental platform. A triangular cascade structure is used to connect multiple notch filters to achieve multi-frequency estimation. The experimental results show that the notch filters can estimate meshing frequencies quickly and accurately, which verifies its effectiveness.

The method presented in the paper is based on in-the-loop computing applied for impulse response to obtain a spectrum with a much higher frequency resolution than using FFT. Then, higher spectrum frequency resolution results in greater accuracy in estimation of natural frequencies. The frequency resolution of estimated spectrum in this method is completely independent of the length of impulse response and, by extension, the method eliminates the problem of spectral resolution limitation using FFT due to finite length of recorded signals. This fact is very useful and is the main advantage of the proposed method. The results of the method have been shown and compared in quantitative terms to natural frequencies estimated using classical FFT with zero-padding as reference method.
