A Novel Acquisition Algorithm Based on PMF-apFFT for BOC Modulated Signals

Abstract: Large Doppler shifts are inherent to high-speed relative motion between receiver and satellite and are likely to cause major problems during the code phase acquisition due to the introduced frequency ambiguity. In order to solve the problem of acquisition for the binary offset carrier (BOC) modulated the signal with large Doppler shift, a novel acquisition algorithm based on partial matched filter-all phase fast Fourier transform (PMF-apFFT) is proposed in this paper. In this method, all phase processing was a… Show more

“…For the periodic direct sequence spread spectrum (DSSS) signal with Doppler frequency shift, the researchers achieve acquisition through the time-frequency twodimensional search and focus on improving detection performance or reducing computational complexity through different signal processing methods. The extended replica folding acquisition search technique [10] and the all-phase fast Fourier transform [11] were applied to improve detection performance. The compressed sensing theory [12] and the Doppler frequency estimation algorithms [13], [14] were applied to reduce the computational complexity.…”

“…This poses a great challenge to the acquisition of GNSS signals, and most of the proposed acquisition algorithms [9−11] can only be used on the premise that the carrier frequency is completely eliminated. In order to solve the problem of acquisition in high dynamic environment, the algorithm combining partial matched filter (PMF) and fast Fourier transform (FFT) [12,13] is adopted to improve the range and resolution of Doppler shift estimation, but there is still no way to compensate the Doppler rate. A discriminator based on FFT was designed in [14], which can effectively estimate the residual of Doppler frequency in a quasi-static environment, but it is unable to deal with even small Doppler rate caused by acceleration.…”

“…In sampling signal processing, all phase Fast Fourier Transform (APFFT) is adopted to solve the problem of spectrum leakage caused by non-integer sampling period. The spectrum of injection signal can be obtained completely [30]- [34]. The active power consumption of the injected signal in each line is used as the fault line selection criterion to improve the anti-interference ability.…”
