Abstract: Rationale: X-linked adrenoleukodystrophy (X-ALD) is caused by mutations in the ABCD1 gene leading to very long chain fatty acid (VLCFA) accumulation. The disease demonstrates a spectrum of phenotypes including adrenomyeloneuropathy (AMN).
