A note on subgroups of cofinite volume

Abstract

This note explores the relationship of closed cofinite volume subgroups H to lattices in Lie groups G, particularly when G ¼ G R , the group of real points of an algebraic Q-group. In some, but by no means all cases, H contains a lattice.
