A no-carrier-added72Se/72As radionuclide generator based on solid phase extraction

Abstract: Summary.72 As-labelled radiopharmaceuticals could be a valuable resource for Positron Emission Tomography (PET). In particular, the long half-life of 72 As (T 1/2 = 26 h) facilitates the observation of long-term physiological or metabolic processes, such as the enrichment and distribution of antibodies in tumor tissue. This work describes the primary radiochemical separation of no-carrier-added (nca) 72 Se from cyclotron irradiated germanium targets and the development of a polystyrene type solid-phase extrac… Show more

“…[124][125][126][127]. The metals of interest are Fe and Ni and the potentially useful positron emitting radionuclides could be 52 Fe (T 1/2 = 8.3 h) and 57 Ni (T 1/2 = 36.0 h), respectively. In view of the increasing interest in multimode imaging, the need for further development of suitable novel positron emitters will certainly increase.…”

“…102,103]. Nonetheless two generator systems for obtaining the daughter 72 As, one based on distillation [137] and the other one on solid phase extraction [138] have been developed. With regard to 140 Nd, the ( p, 2n) and ( 3 He, xn) reactions on 141 Pr and nat Ce, respectively, have been investigated in detail [cf .…”
