A Nietzschean Account of Flourishment: Drives, Values, and the Significance of Perspectivism

Abstract

<p>One of the primary goals of Nietzsche’s philosophy was to give his readers the means to flourish in their own lives. In line with Nietzsche’s goal, this thesis thus offers the reader an account of Nietzschean psychology which is framed to be as conducive to the reader’s flourishment as possible. Its aim is to offer the reader an understanding of the human psycho-physical constitution, specifically how drives, affects, values, and perspectivism are interrelated, that allows them to gain insight into themselves. One can then take such knowledge to unify oneself, which is required to maximize flourishment.</p>
