A nickel and cobalt bimetal organic framework with high capacity as an anode material for lithium-ion batteries

Abstract: The Ni–Co-BTC anode shows excellent electrochemical performance, which could be ascribed to the intercalation/deintercalation mechanism and the synergistic effect of two cations.

“…As reported in the literature, free TMA shows characteristic bands at 3088, 1721, and 536 cm −1 which correspond to –OH stretching, –CO stretching, and –CO bending vibrations, which are not present in the synthesized MOFs. 28 The strong bands at 1615 and 1368 cm −1 are attributed to –COO asymmetric and symmetric stretching vibrations, respectively, which indicates that the carboxylic group of TMA has coordinated with the metal via a bidentate mode and comprises a polymeric structure. 29,30 The shift in peak from 1721 to 1615 cm −1 indicates that the carboxylic group of TMA is deprotonated and binds with metal, which can be further proved by the presence of a metal-ligand peak at 720 cm −1 .…”
