Abstract:Sealing wellbores via the use of alloy sealing technology presents a number of challenges. The typical approach involves the use of exothermic chemical reactions delivering high temperatures to ensure sufficient heat is generated to ensure the alloys remain molten for long enough to reach their intended radial extent.
One challenge of such an approach are the high temperatures generated and their potential effect on the external well barrier elements (casing, cement, formation). Furthermore, che… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
