“…Saturated tetraaza macrocycles have proven to be versatile macrocyclic ligands capable of forming stable inert complexes with a variety of biomedically important metal ions, the chemistry of which has attracted interest due to their involvement in a variety of catalytic, biochemical and industrial processes (Kimura et al, 1992(Kimura et al, , 1994. Regarding biological applications, metal complexes of the 14-membered tetraaza macrocyclic ligands directly relevant to the present study have been explored for their use in magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and radioimmunotherapy (Norman et al, 1995;Konig et al, 1996). They are also useful in terms of their utility in pharmacological (Hollinshead & Smith, 1990), crystal engineering (Suh et al, 2006) and analytical (Singh et al, 1999) endeavours, and they have been found to have antifungal ( 2007) and (in some cases) potential anticancer properties (Arai et al, 1998;Gao et al, 2010).…”

“…1. L 1 , L B , L C interact with PdCl 2 and K 2 Pd(SCN) 4 to produce square-planar palladium(II) (6), respectively. Moreover 1-4 were found to undergo ligand substitution reactions with KSCN to produce the thiocyanato complexes, 5-8, respectively.…”

“…1,2-Diaminopropane, HClO 4 , sodium borohydride (Merck Germany), PdCl 2 .xH 2 O (Aldrich, USA), KSCN, KNO 3 and KNO 2 (Fluka AG, Switzerland) were used as received from commercial sources. The solvents used in the reactions were of AR-grade and were obtained from commercial sources (Merck, Germany).…”
