In this work, the efficacy of two metal–organic frameworks (MIL-101(Fe) and NH2-MIL-101(Fe)) in eliminating acetamiprid (ATP) insecticide and eosin Y (EY) dye from aqueous solution is tested. An analysis was conducted on the developed nanocomposite’s optical, morphological, and structural characteristics. The adsorption isotherm, kinetics, thermodynamics, reusability, and mechanisms for ATP and EY dye removal were assessed. NH2-MIL-101(Fe) adsorbed 76% and 90% of ATP pesticide and EY dye, respectively after 10 to 15 min in optimum conditions. For both adsorbents, with regard to explaining the isotherm data, the Langmuir model offered the most accurate description. Moreover, the adsorption of ATP and EY dye is described by the pseudo-second-order kinetic model. The maximum adsorption capacities of ATP and EY dye on MIL-101(Fe) were 57.6 and 48.9 mg/g compared to 70.5 and 97.8 mg/g using NH2-MIL-101(Fe). The greatest amount of ATP and EY dye clearance was obtained at a neutral medium for both adsorbents. The results of this investigation demonstrate the effectiveness of MIL-101(Fe) and NH2-MIL-101(Fe) as effective substances in the adsorption process for removing pesticides and dyes from aqueous solution.

The objective of this investigation is to look into the potential use of trash potato peels (PP) and processed potato peels (MPP) as a solution for effectively removing Ni(II) ions extracted from aqueous solutions. The optimal working circumstances for removing Ni(II) ions from aqueous solution in PP are an initial concentration of 500 mg/L, an adsorbent dose of 0.3 g, a contact time (CT) of 100 minutes, and a solution pH of 6.21. The optimal working conditions for MPP were established to be an initial concentration of 500 mg/L, an adsorbent dosage of 0.15 g, a CT of 100 minutes, and a solution pH of 6.21. Studies were conducted at various temperatures to better understand the removal capabilities of adsorbent compounds. The removal abilities of Ni(II) ions for PP were determined to be 25.125, 29.325, and 33.112 mg/g at varied temperatures (25, 35, and 45 oC), respectively. Under the same conditions, the removal capacity of MPP was determined to be 68.965, 78.125, and 85.470 mg/g. Further investigation of the adsorption kinetics revealed that the experimental results suited the pseudo-second-order model for both PP and MPP adsorbents. Thermodynamic analyses demonstrated that the endothermic process of Ni (II) metal ion adsorption onto the adsorbents occurred spontaneously. The study found that both PP and MPP were very efficient and ecologically friendly adsorbents for removing Ni (II) ions from aqueous solutions. Their demonstrated performance highlights their potential value in sustainable wastewater treatment applications, which accord with environmentally conscious behaviors. Their high removal capacity to effectively remove metal ions, together with their ease of use, low cost, and origin as agricultural trash, make them potential adsorbents for long-term uses in both water purification and environmental cleanup.

This study is concerned with the physicochemical investigation of cobalt (II) sorptions from aqueous solution by potato peel (PP) and NaOH/CaCl2/C2H5OH‐modified potato peel (MPP). The sorption conditions of PP and MPP under optimized conditions were optimized according to the maximum effects of the main factors affecting the sorption processes (PP and MPP dosage, sorbate concentration, interaction time, and temperature) at pH 6.78. The kinetic and equilibrium experimental sorption data of the studied sorbates were simulated using commonly used models and were found to fit well with pseudo‐second‐order and Langmuir models. The Co(II) ion adsorption capacity of PP was determined as 12.25, 16.44, and 20.74 mg/g, respectively, at various temperatures (25, 35, and 45 °C), while the adsorption capacity of MPP under the same conditions was determined as 41.49, 52.35, and 62.50 mg/g. Thermodynamic parameters determined for each sorption system showed that the sorption processes were endothermic and spontaneous. The results of this study emphasize that both PP and MPP can be used as effective sorbents for removing pollutants from water.
