“…Among the 48 taxa of Trigonella reported from Iran, 15 (32%) are endemic and 14 species belong to T. sect. Ellipticae (Rechinger 1984, Hamzeh'ee 2000, Janighorban 2004, Badrzadeh and Ghafarzadeh‐Namazi 2009, Ranjbar et al 2012a, b2012b, Ranjbar and Hajmoradi 2015, 2016). The section consists of perennials with entire or dentate stipules, yellow or rarely white or dark violet petals with violet veins, a campanulate calyx, generally transversely veined and wingless or thin winged pods, and smooth seeds.…”
