A new species of amblycipitid catfish, Xiurenbagrus gigas (Teleostei: Siluriformes), from Guangxi, China

Abstract: A new species of amblycipitid catfish is described based on five specimens (88.0-164.5 mm in standard length: SL) collected from the vicinity of Du'an, Guangxi Zhuangzu Autonomous Region, southern China. The new species, Xiurenbagrus gigas, is different from all other known amblycipitid catfish, but similar to X. xiurenensis by having two patches of vomerine teeth.
