A New Solid Electrolyte Type Ammonia Gas Sensor Applying Praseodymium Ammonium Sulfate Based Auxiliary Sensing Electrode

Abstract: A new solid electrolyte type ammonia gas sensor was fabricated by combining the trivalent aluminum cation conducting (Al 0.2 Zr 0.8 ) 20/19 Nb(PO 4 ) 3 solid electrolyte and the praseodymium ammonium sulfate Pr 2 (SO 4 ) 3 ·(NH 4 ) 2 SO 4 auxiliary sensing electrode. Since the present sensor showed such a superior sensing performance of quantitative, continuous, and reproducible response with obeying the theoretical Nernst relationship, it is expected to be a practical NH 3 gas sensor.
