A new regularization algorithm based on the neighborhood method for electrical impedance tomography

Abstract: Regularization can be used to address the ill-posed inverse problem of electrical impedance tomography (EIT). However, the most commonly used regularization methods have their own inherent issues, such as the over-smoothness of reconstructed edges and unstable solution due to measurement noise. In this paper, a new regularization method is proposed, which utilizes the total differences of neighboring pixels (TDN) as the penalty term by utilizing spatial constraints from four or even more directions. With the u… Show more

“…Electromagnetic tomography (EMT) is an industrial process tomography technology based on the law of electromagnetic induction for multiphase flow parameter detection [1][2][3]. Thanks to the advantages of EMT that can be measured without contact and without radiation hazard, coupled with rapid technical response, low cost and portability, EMT has broad application prospects and unlimited development in [9][10][11][12] can effectively solve the ill conditioned problem and achieve better image reconstruction effect than LBP algorithm, but its problem is that the image edge effect after reconstruction is poor. The Landweber iteration algorithm in [13,14] has been widely used in recent years due to its effectiveness, but the disadvantage of the algorithm is that its theoretical basis is the steepest descent method, so it can not be applied to the case of parameter discomfort.…”
