A New Physical Parameter Identification Method for Two-Axis On-Road Vehicles: Simulation and Experiment

Abstract: A new physical parameter identification method for two-axis on-road vehicle is presented. The modal parameters of vehicle are identified by using the State Variable Method. To make it possible to determine the matricesM,C, andKof the vehicle, a known mass matrixΔMis designed to add into the vehicle in order to increase the number of equations ensuring that the number of equations is more than the one of unknowns. Therefore, the physical parameters of vehicle can be estimated by using the least square method. T… Show more

“…39 In this study, the handling requirement of APR-IHPS is also considered to design the capacity of accumulator. Based on equation (36), the static nonlinear stiffness curves of PR-IHPS system can be obtained as shown in Figure 9. It indicates that the stiffness of PR-IHPS system increases with the decrease of accumulator's capacity C a .…”

“…The suspensions are assumed to have the linear spring stiffness ( / ) and damping coefficient ( / ), and the vertical stiffness ( / ) of the tyre is considered to be linear. In order to obtain the linear physical parameters for a two-axle vehicle, a new physical parameter identification method was proposed by Zheng et al, [28]. Based on the assumption of the linearity, they introduced the state variable method (SVM) to identify the modal parameter of the vehicle.…”

“…The comparison is done about both the modal characteristic and the dynamic response. The physical parameters of a seven-DOF vehicle model, which can be identified by the physical parameter identification method [28], are shown in the Parameters. The Parameters also lists the hydraulic parameters of the KDS system based on the literature [23].…”
