Frugal innovation is no longer relevant only for emerging countries or for low-tech artifacts. The interest of countries developed by frugal innovation has been increasing in recent years, since it is an alternative of less use of natural and financial resources, however, it is not clear which is the role of developed countries in the advancement of frugal innovation. In this article, we examine the literature, technical reports and patents to propose some possible paths. Through qualitative methods such as semantic analysis, we argue that research for the modification of the technological matrix of products, processes and organizational arrangements and the development of a better understanding of the frugal entrepreneur may be key roles for developed countries to contribute to the development of frugal innovation.

En este artículo se busca exponer la importancia de la consulta de patentes en el marco del desarrollo científico y tecnológico. Se muestran las características principales de las patentes, así como las ventajas que estos documentos pueden ofrecer sobre las fuentes de información más usadas en la investigación tradicional, como artículos científicos y profesionales. También se expone la Clasificación Internacional de Patentes, que conviene conocer si se quiere extraer información de las patentes exitosamente. Para finalizar, se muestra un ejemplo de la consulta de patentes alrededor del caso de estudio de las microrredes en los sistemas de potencia, con alta penetración de energía renovable. Con este caso estudio se busca invitar al lector a incluir la consulta de patentes entre sus hábitos de búsqueda bibliográfica.

Харыбина Библиотека по естественным наукам РАН Анализ востребованности информационно-патентного обеспечения пользователей в научных библиотеках Обоснованы важность и необходимость изучения функциональной специфики информационных потребностей пользователей научно-исследовательских институтов и Федерального исследовательского центра в Пущинском научном центре (ПНЦ) РАН для корректировки информационного обслуживания. Подчёркнуто, что особый акцент в исследовании сделан на изучении информационных потребностей пользователей ПНЦ РАН в патентной области. Представлены обобщённые результаты анализа информационных потребностей пользователей, занимающихся исследованиями в области физикохимической биологии. Отмечено, что проведённый мониторинг подтвердил необходимость в таком направлении деятельности научной библиотеки, как патентное обеспечение пользователей, которое включает информационно-аналитическую, консультационную, методическую работу и патентные исследования. Доказано, что патентное информирование занимает особое место в современной информационной инфраструктуре и востребовано пользователями ПНЦ РАН. По результатам исследования разработана концепция информационной системы патентного обеспечения пользователей библиотек НИИ ПНЦ РАН, которая базируется на приоритетном развитии дистанционных и научно-аналитических услуг, в том числе патентных исследований. Сделаем вывод: разработанная модель информационного обеспечения учёных ПНЦ РАН способствует коммерческой выгоде и повышает заинтересованность в услугах библиотеки. Much attention was paid to the study of IN of scientists searching for patent information. The authors summarize the results of the analysis of information needs of researchers specializing in physicochemical biology. They substantiate the need for user patent information support comprising information and analytical services, consulting, methodical work and patent studies. The study findings demonstrate that patent information services hold a special place in the modern information infrastructure and are highly demanded by the PSC RAS users. Based on the study results, the authors introduce the concept of patent information support of PSC RAS library users.
