“…25,26 KB 5 O 8 ·4H 2 O 27 is the earliest discovered material containing the B 5 O 10 group, which opens another direction in borate structural chemistry. Borates with the typical B 5 O 10 block have garnered increasing interest in recent years, and some materials with the same structure type containing the B 5 O 10 group have been discovered, such as A 3 REB 6 O 12 (A = K, Rb; RE = Sc, Y, Nd, Eu, and Sm), 28–33 K 6 AMSc 2 B 15 O 30 (A = Li, Na, Li 0.7 Na 0.3 , M = Ca, Sr), 28,34 K 6 Li 3 Sc 2 B 15 O 30 , 35 K 7 Li 2 Y 2 B 15 O 30 , 36 K 7 M II RE 2 B 15 O 30 (M II = Ca, Sr, Ba, Zn, Cd, Pb; RE = Sc, Y, La, Gd, Lu), 37–39 Rb 7 SrRE 2 B 15 O 30 (RE = Y and Gd), 40,41 and K 21 Yb 8 B 45 O 90 42 (Table S1†). Among the related compounds mentioned above, it is worth noting that two new compounds, I and II , are very close to their iso-structural borates, Rb 7 SrRE 2 B 15 O 30 (RE = Y and Gd).…”
