A new method of temperature control for the uniform heating

Abstract: Uniform temperature control of heating plate which has a wide thermal conduction area is required in many industrial application fields. In this paper, a new method of uniform temperature control is proposed based on an idea of quasi-decoupling. The feature of the proposed method is'easy to &sign a control system without the precise plant dynamics. The controller is designed using the gradient and average of temperature among the arbitrary points. The effectiveness of the proposed control method is confirmed b… Show more

“…Therefore, the weight w ij is updated by adopting the gradient descent, expressed as Equation (11). The correction ∆W ij ensures w ij changes in a way that always decreases the error, given in Equation (12), where α represents the learning rate of the back propagation:…”

“…The quality of the obtained model depends on many on-site factors, such as the excitation condition and selected identification algorithm [9][10][11]. In addition, the decoupling control is not enough to reach uniform temperature control in transient state without adjusting the PID parameters in different channels [12].…”

“…Interference matrix operation is the widely used method in the field of electromechanical control. For example, the method has been applied to thermally treat equipment using multiple heaters and multiple temperature monitors to realize a uniform temperature distribution including a transient state, 13,14) where the method can determine outputs of each heater while eliminating interferences of the thermal flux from the other heaters, realizing a precise and high-speed control. Figures 10(a)-10(d) show schematic views of the pulse-controlled gas injection method using interference matrix operation.…”
