Since electromagnetic waves in the THz range possess much lower energies than infrared (IR) photons for Fourier transform IR (FTIR) absorption spectroscopy, THz spectroscopy is adequate to the above‐mentioned vibrations with their characteristic energies much lower than those of intramolecular vibrations, for which FTIR is adequate .
