A New Impact Time and Angle Control Guidance Law for Stationary and Nonmaneuvering Targets

Abstract: A guidance problem for impact time and angle control applicable to cooperative attack is considered based on the sliding mode control. In order to satisfy the impact angle constraint, a line-of-sight rate polynomial function is introduced with four tuning parameters. And the time-to-go derivative with respect to a downrange orientation is derived to minimize the impact time error. Then the sliding mode control surface with impact time and angle constraints is constructed using nonlinear engagement dynamics to … Show more

“…Unlike the above scenarios, some researchers have focused on the research of cooperatively intercepting maneuvering target with multimissiles in recent years [2,3]. As is known to all, a missile can intercept a low maneuvering target (such as early warning aircraft) easily [12][13][14][15], but it is difficult for a missile to intercept a target with highly maneuverability (such as unmanned aerial vehicle). Thus, it is necessary to develop cooperative guidance law for multiple missiles against the highly maneuvering target.…”

“…In [18], to make full use of the vulnerability of warships, Kang and Kim proposed a linear quadratic differential game guidance law to make the impact angle and time of the missile controllable. A collaborative attack guidance law which can control impact time and angle based on sliding mode control was proposed by Yang et al in [19]. In [20], Harrison proposed a new method to derive the optimal missile guidance law and proposed a threedimensional hybrid guidance law that constrains the impact angle and time.…”

“…Zarchan studied a variety of guidance laws for this pursuit-evasion scenario [1]. A new impact time and angle control guidance law against stationary and nonmaneuvering targets was investigated for the missile [2]. A novel extended proportional guidance law was designed to intercept the maneuvering target [3].…”
