A new species of trapdoor spider found in southern Andalusia, Spain, Nemesia amicitia spec. nov., is described. This species builds a branched burrow with a characteristic wafer-type trapdoor over a curb around the entrance. In the same geographic area, two populations of N. uncinata Bacelar, 1933 have been found. New data about the morphological variability of this species and the structure of its burrow are provided.

Los jardines domésticos pueden actuar como refugios para la biodiversidad de los artrópodos. Aquí se describe una nueva especie de araña trampera conocida únicamente de un jardín doméstico. Nemesia hesperides sp. nov. construye un nido sencillo con una tapadera formada por una fina capa de seda, característica que comparte con otras especies con morfología similar, como son N. dorthesi Thorell, 1875, N. entinae Calvo & Pagán, 2022, N. santeugenia Decae, 2005, N. santeulalia Decae, 2005 y N. shenlongi Pertegal et al., 2022. Su presencia en un jardín gestionado de manera ecológica frente a su ausencia en los jardines adyacentes manejados más intensivamente, indica la importancia de realizar prácticas compatibles con la conservación de la biodiversidad en estos espacios. https://doi.org/10.1007/s10531-017-1466-xurn:lsid:zoobank.org:pub:39E20568-9B2D-48E1-80AA-178D5A45A810
