A new hybrid bacteriocin, Ent35–MccV, displays antimicrobial activity against pathogenic Gram‐positive and Gram‐negative bacteria

Abstract: Graphical abstractHighlights► A chimerical gene encoding a hybrid bacteriocin–microcin was generated by PCR. ► Ent35–MccV is a hybrid bacteriocin containing enterocin CRL35 and microcin V. ► Ent35–MccV is active against Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria. ► Enterohemorrhagic Escherichia coli and Listeriamonocytogenes are sensitive to Ent35–MccV.
