A new framework for interleaved scanning in cardiovascular MR: Application to image‐based respiratory motion correction in coronary MR angiography

Abstract: The usefulness of the proposed scan interleaving framework was demonstrated for image-based respiratory motion correction. It facilitated more direct comparisons of image navigator acquisitions with different k-space trajectories. Furthermore, we could demonstrate that spiral and Cartesian EPI navigators may be particularly suitable for image-based motion correction, as they provide improved motion correction and high navigator apparent signal-to-noise ratio while spending very little magnetization, thereby mi… Show more

“…A dynamically interleaved 2D/3D dual-sequence scheme was implemented in a dedicated acquisition framework [ 28 ]. All images were acquired on a 1.5 T Philips Achieva MR system (Philips Healthcare, Best, The Netherlands) using a 5-element cardiac receive coil array.…”

“…An MRS sequence was interleaved with a gradient echo imaging sequence using an interleaved scanning framework . The MRS localization and acquisition were omitted, but the water suppression was still performed using the VAPOR sequence with a bandwidth of 200 Hz.…”

“…The single voxel sLASER MRS sequence was localized in the occipital cortex, where typically visual functionality is investigated, and was interleaved with a GE‐EPI imaging sequence, as typically used for fMRI . Because the focus of this work is image and spectral quality due to achieved B 0 homogeneity, no visual stimulation was applied and functional analysis was omitted.…”
