“…The effect of the anion on ionic conductivity was compared among ME-FIL 2 , ME-FIL 6 , and ME-FIL 7 . ME-FIL 2 combining the [NTf 2 ] − anion has a higher ionic conductivity (0.22 S/m), which is close to the value of ME-FIL 6 with a [BF 4 ] − anion (0.21 S/m), than ME-IL 7 with a [PF 6 ] − anion (0.064 S/m), and lower than the value (0.406 S/m) of non-ether-functionalized ILs [BMIm][NTf 2 ] [39]. This significant difference in ionic conductivity caused by anions may be related to the different hydrogen bond interactions between the anion and cation of ME-FILs, and the stronger interaction limit, the freeer the mobility of both the cation and anion [40].…”

“…The EMIm + cation has been extensively used in researches of ILs since the ILs based on EMIm + often exhibit a low melting point and low viscosity with a variety of anions including many fluoroanions. 4,6,8,13,[19][20][21][22] This study reports the synthetic procedure and physical and electrochemical properties of the SO 3 F-based IL, EMImSO 3 F. The HOSO 2 F-rich forms, EMIm(FO 2 SOH)OSO 2 F and EMIm(FO 2 SOH) 2 O 2 SOF, which are obtained in a similar way to the case of EMImSO 3 F are also investigated in the present study. The (FO 2 SOH)OSO 2 F − anion was characterized by spectroscopic and diffractional techniques in previous reports 14,15 in the solid state, whereas (FO 2 SOH) 2 O 2 SOF − is unknown to our knowledge.…”

“…Room temperature ionic liquids (RTILs), synthetic molten salts with the melting temperature below room temperature, are promising lubricant candidates for HAMR because of their negligible vapor pressures, non-flammability, high thermal stability, broad liquid range and promising tribology properties. [3][4] In the current paper, we have evaluated the thermal stability, the lube uniformity, the boned ratio and the coefficient of friction of different RTILs on carbon overcoats (COC).…”
