A New EGFR Inhibitor from Ficus benghalensis Exerted Potential Anti-Inflammatory Activity via Akt/PI3K Pathway Inhibition

Abstract: Inflammation is a critical defensive mechanism mainly arising due to the production of prostaglandins via cyclooxygenase enzymes. This study aimed to examine the anti-inflammatory activity of fatty acid glucoside (FAG), which is isolated from Ficus benghalensis against lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-stimulated RAW 264.7 macrophages. The cytotoxic activity of the FAG on RAW 264.7 macrophages was evaluated with an MTT assay. The levels of PGE2 and NO and the activity of iNOS, COX-1, and COX-2 enzymes in LPS-stimulated… Show more

“…Looking for new pharmacological activities for novel agents [53][54][55][56] and repurposing drugs [57][58][59] have become a remarkable approach [14,[60][61][62]. Azilsartan is a member of ARBs and has been used in the market as an antihypertensive drug [34].…”

“…Notably, fibrosis can be defined as an impaired healing process [ 28 ]. Lately, many attempts are ongoing, such as repurposing drugs [ 29 , 30 , 31 , 32 ] or looking for new bioactive synthetic [ 33 , 34 , 35 , 36 ] or natural [ 37 , 38 , 39 , 40 , 41 ] molecules that show promising therapeutic potential agents.…”

“…Repurposing drugs and looking for new pharmacological actions for synthetic [28,29] or natural [30] candidates have attracted great attention [31][32][33]. Regardless of the evidence that cytotherapy with AD-MSCs leads to protection against CISP-evoked nephrotoxicity [34][35][36], the effect of AD-MSCs on CISP-evoked hepatotoxicity seems questionable, with a lack of investigations tackling this issue.…”
