Classification of Quranic verses into predefined categories is an essential task in Quranic studies. However, in recent times, with the advancement in information technology and machine learning, several classification algorithms have been developed for the purpose of text classification tasks. Automated text classification (ATC) is a well-known technique in machine learning. It is the task of developing models that could be trained to automatically assign to each text instances a known label from a predefined state. In this paper, four conventional ML classifiers: support vector machine (SVM), naïve bayes (NB), decision trees (J48), nearest neighbor (k-NN), are used in classifying selected Quranic verses into three predefined class labels: faith (iman), worship (ibadah), etiquettes (akhlak). The Quranic data comprises of verses in chapter two (al-Baqara) of the holy scripture. In the results, the classifiers achieved above 80% accuracy score with naïve bayes (NB) algorithm recording the overall highest scores of 93.9% accuracy and 0.964 AUC.

The software developers and researchers have been facing difficulties regarding software development effort estimation (SDEE) since 1960s. Both overestimation and underestimation are problematic for future software development. The software engineering field is continuously adapting new technologies and development methodologies, so there is always a requirement to have an accurate SDEE method that can cater the needs of continually growing software industry. The major purpose of this state‐of‐the‐art review is to provide an additional insight of existing SDEE studies while considering five points of reference: techniques used to construct models, strengths and weaknesses of different models, availability of benchmark data sets, data set characteristics, generalization ability of models. We have performed a comprehensive review of SDEE studies published in the period 1981‐2016. We have defined a new scheme of categorizing existing SDEE models. We have found that a majority of available data sets do not include complete information of projects, which misleads the direction of research. To compare SDEE models, we recommend to use same data sets while focusing on specific aspects of accuracy as none of SDEE studies has yet been able to compare all the existing models over same data sets while considering same aspects of accuracy.

AbstrakMenentukan faktor utama pola kecenderungan postingan blog merupakan hal yang penting. Dataset BLOGGER diambil dari situs UCI Machine Learning Repositories yang mana merupakan dataset dari Iran tepatnya provinsi Kohkiloyeh dan Boyer Ahmad. Dalam penelitian ini peneliti memilih metode k-NN karena k-NN dapat mengatasi masalah klasifikasi dengan baik, namun dibalik keunggulan k-NN pengaturan nilai k yang sangat sensitif kerap menjadi kelemahan dari k-NN. Algoritma Genetika pada penelitian ini telah berhasil memperbaiki akurasi prediksi k-NN dengan memberikan nilai k yang optimal bagi k-NN dengan hasil akurasi sebesar 88% dibandingkan dengan akurasi k-NN saja sebesar 82% dan metode yang digunakan pada penelitian sebelumnya sebesar 82%. Bahkan k-NN+ GA terbukti lebih unggul dari pada metode prediksi lainnya. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah menerapkan Algoritma Genetika untuk mendapatkan nilai k yang optimal sehingga dapat memberikan prediksi yang lebih akurat.
