A New Analytical Design Methodology for a Three-Section Wideband Wilkinson Power Divider

Abstract: In this paper, a new analytical design technique for a three-section wideband Wilkinson power divider is presented. The proposed design technique utilizes the dual-frequency behavior of commensurate transmission lines for the even-mode analysis and contributes a set of completely new and rigorous design equations for the odd-mode analysis. Measurement of a fabricated prototype utilizing the proposed technique shows an excellent return-loss (>16 dB), insertion loss (<3.35 dB), and excellent isolation (>… Show more

“…There are different design approaches for WPDs, such as tapered transmission lines [1], three-section [2], dual-band structures [3], dual-lines [4], and triple lines [5]. In addition to these, open-/short-circuited stubs and defected ground structures are used to achieve improved isolation [6][7][8].…”

“…In [30], coupled lines and the multi-section technique were used to achieve dual-band and wideband operations. Furthermore, in [31,32], a multi-section structure and analytic design method were used to design power dividers with wideband and dual-band operations. Coupled lines and open stubs were used in [33] to design filtering response dividers with frequency reconfigurable ability.…”
