A New Adaptive Notch Filtering Algorithm Based on Normalized Lattice Structure with Improved Mean Update Term

Abstract: In this paper, we propose Affine Combination Lattice Algorithm (ACLA) as a new lattice-based adaptive notch filtering algorithm. The ACLA makes use of the affine combination of Regalia's Simplified Lattice Algorithm (SLA) and Lattice Gradient Algorithm (LGA). It is proved that the ACLA has faster convergence speed than the conventional lattice-based algorithms. We conduct this proof by means of theoretical analysis of the mean update term. Specifically, we show that the mean update term of the ACLA is always l… Show more

“…Adaptive IIR notch digital filters have less computational complexities than their FIR counterparts as few coefficients are adopted. For this reason, many methods for the adaptive IIR filtering have been proposed so far [4]- [19]. Among various types of adaptive notch digital filters, adaptive notch filtering and parametric spectral estimation of narrow-band or sine wave signals in an additive broad-band process were examined with constrained poles and zeros [4].…”

“…(1) Filtering algorithm The digital filtering algorithm has a very important position in the intelligent sensor processing platform, which will directly affect the system's information decision-making function [22][23]. Generally speaking, the digital filter of the smart sensor will reduce the error by improving the signal-to-noise ratio or the mean square calculation method, and take care to output the optimal solution.…”

“…The mean update term of notch frequency directly reflects the convergence of the algorithm [29]. To compare the convergence of the SLA, the GLA and the NLRLS algorithm, the mean update terms of notch frequency at different frequencies are calculated in this section [see 30].…”
