The Internet of Things (IoT) can avail from device-to-device (D2D) communication techniques to increase object data exchange performance. IoT networks aim to offer a massive number of services at high quality levels, and many of the devices providing these services are mobile. Devices such as wearables, sensors, drones and smart vehicles need constant connectivity despite their moving patterns and therefore, an IoT architecture should consider both Quality of Service (QoS) and mobility. D2D allows devices to communicate directly to share content and functionality, such as access to the Internet. This paper proposes REMOS-IoT -A RElay and MObility Scheme for improved IoT communication performance in support of increased QoS for the data exchange services between mobile IoT devices. Simulation-based testing showed how performance of devices increased in several scenarios, demonstrating the efficiency of the proposed architecture and algorithms.

With the increase in demand for power with population, power quality issue is one of the challenging areas which needs utmost attention. It is a known fact that the transmission of power takes place through transmission lines which are bare conductors and are prone to many natural situations, which degrade the quality of power and also leads to sagging of conductors. Variation in temperature is a commonly affecting parameter over these transmission lines and leads to deviation in the power flow affecting ampacity of the conductors and over a period of time leads to unwanted sag. Monitoring the temperature of transmission lines is done continuosly using LM35 temperature sensor and an application of Internet Of Things (IOT) through thingspeak application platform to track the variations. An Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) environment is created to transmit the temperature data from one node to another using NS-2 platform.

Abstract-The extremely large number of devices available to the modern day user, with the increase in device intercommunication, is fuelling the latest Internet of Things (IoT) development. IoT needs to enable exchange of various types of data, from sensor data to multimedia, between numerous diverse devices differing in power, connectivity, mobility and energy, while also maintaining high levels of Quality of Service (QoS). This paper performs statistical analysis of the innovative NETworking Scheme for sMart IoT gatewayS (NETSMITS) in terms of several QoS network-related metrics with most significant impact on devices' performance. NETSMITS introduces an innovative algorithm which uses QoS and service relevance metrics in order to efficiently cluster intercommunicating IoT objects. Statistical analysis is performed on the QoS data collected in a highly relevant multi-device scenario in order to understand NETSMITS' behaviour. Interesting results were obtained, describing the relationship between the QoS metrics and different types of IoT devices.
