“…Thus, it was very suitable to be employed as the recognition group for the peroxynitrite probe. Nap 3 [ 92 ] and Nap 4 [ 93 ] probes were built on the above strategy. Both of them exhibited good sensitivity and specificity over peroxynitrite, and they were used for the fluorescent imaging of the exogenous and endogenous peroxynitrite of the living cells and zebrafish or C. elegans .…”

“…24 Again, In 2020, Guo and co-workers reported another napthalimide-based probe which, upon oxidation by ONOO − , converted to its precursor amine to give fluorometric changes. 25 There are many reports where borate was used as the recognition unit for H 2 O 2 , but peroxynitrite is more efficient in reacting with borate. 26 Although some reports are based on the borate reaction of peroxynitrite, the product converts to its parent alcohols after the reaction.…”

“…In 2017, Liu and co-workers reported a napthalimide-based probe, which was nonfluorescent, but after the addition of peroxynitrite, N-dearylation occurred to give a green fluorescent product . “…The uorescence method has attracted immense attention in biological systems owing to its membrane permeability, high sensitivity and non-destructive detection. [16][17][18][19][20] To date, various uorescent sensors have been constructed to visualize ONOO − in organisms mainly based on hydrazine, 21,22 aketoamide, 23,24 N-phenylrhodol, 25,26 organoselenium, 27,28 organotellurium, 29,30 boronic acid/boronates, 31,32 phenol derivatives, 33,34 double carbon bonds 35,36 and so on. [37][38][39][40] However, some of them exhibited low sensitivity and were susceptible to interference from H 2 O 2 or ClO − due to their similar properties to ONOO − and relevant ROS.…”
