A multichannel continuously selectable multifrequency electrical impedance spectroscopy measurement system

Abstract: There is increasing evidence that alterations in the electrical property spectrum of tissues below 10 MHz is diagnostic for tissue pathology and/or pathophysiology. Yet, the complexity associated with constructing a high-fidelity multichannel, multifrequency data acquisition instrument has limited widespread development of spectroscopic electrical impedance imaging concepts. To contribute to the relatively sparse experience with multichannel spectroscopy systems this paper reports on the design, realization an… Show more

“…It has been used by many groups for clinical and industrial applications for screening relative conductivity of a medium where, for example in the case of monitoring of regional lung function or respiratory system the electrodes are placed in a ring around the chest, which is the subject under test [14][15][16][17].…”

“…The main goal is minimize the total amount of data being acquired to be transmitted. Alex Hartov et al Hartov et al (2007) used an under-sampling technique to accelerate data acquisition. Their work was used in developing electrical impedance spectroscopic.…”

“…Tomographic EMI techniques generate an impedance (or conversely admittance) distribution map of the breast region, in which the presence of malignant lesions can be quantitatively assessed [3][4][5][19][20][21][22][23]. A recent study has shown that multi modality EMI approaches have an increased sensitivity and sensibility compared to individual EMI techniques [3].…”
