A modular approach to the bisbenzylisoquinoline alkaloids tetrandrine and isotetrandrine

Abstract: A modular short-step synthesis of the bisbenzylisoquinoline alkaloids tetrandrine and isotetrandrine was developed employing N-acyl-Pictet–Spengler reaction and Ullman diaryl ether synthesis as central steps.
