A Modified Dynamic Model of Single-Sided Linear Induction Motors Considering Longitudinal and Transversal Effects

Abstract: This paper proposes a modified dynamic equivalent circuit model for a linear induction motor considering both longitudinal end effect and transverse edge effect. The dynamic end effect (speed-dependent end effect) is based on conventional Duncan’s approach. The transverse edge effect is investigated by using three correction factors applied to the secondary resistance and magnetizing inductance. Moreover, the iron saturation effect, the skin effect, and the air-gap leakage effect are incorporated into the prop… Show more

“…Electronics 2022, 11, x FOR PEER REVIEW while the proportion of new data is too small [14]. When there are model errors culation errors in the system, the effect of new observation data on state estimatio small to effectively suppress the influence of errors on state estimation, resultin tortion of the covariance matrix and a divergence of filtering [15][16][17].…”

“…The research shows that the EKF linearizes the estimated state vector at each sampling time. As K gets bigger, the ratio of historical data in the filtered value is too large, while the proportion of new data is too small [14]. When there are model errors and calculation errors in the system, the effect of new observation data on state estimation is too small to effectively suppress the influence of errors on state estimation, resulting in distortion of the covariance matrix and a divergence of filtering [15][16][17].…”

“…The EC proposed in this paper is based on the T-Type equivalent circuit commented in [13,14]. In [15], EC based on a Quasi-Two-Dimensional vertical analytical model for the case of a double-sided LIM, both in dynamic and steady state, was developed. This model will be modified to include the intrinsic characteristics of the open-air gap structure presented in the LIMs.…”
