A modified dual watermarking scheme for digital images with tamper localization/detection and recovery capabilities

Abstract: The privacy and integrity protection of digital documents specially the case of biomedical images is a vital subject in the current world of telecommunication and digital multimedia exchanges. In this paper, a modified semi robust digital image watermarking method with tamper detection and recovery ability is proposed. For this purpose, the proposed method comprises two stages. In the first stage, a specific order of the integer wavelet coefficient of the original image forms the watermark which prepares both … Show more

“…This is the most demanding type of watermarking as the watermarking is generated and embedded at the transmitter, while detection and extraction will happen at receiver as illustrated in Figure 2. Watermarking is also done even in prepossessing stage and the approach presented here does not impact the efficiency of the network in which a watermark is inserted as the embedded watermark while it is training the host network [13,14].…”

“…An eigenface is taken as the robust watermark embedded into the low frequency subband LL while the fragile watermark is based on LSB substitution to detect the tamper and locate the damaged region [8] the corresponding region of eigenface is used to recover the image. A modified dual watermarking scheme [9], this paper presents watermarks generation from the host image itself. The robust watermark inserted into the region of interest (ROI) based on Integer Wavelet Transform (IWT) and the secondary watermark is embedded by the LSB substitution for tamper localization and recovery.…”
