A model of nonlinear electrodynamics

Abstract: A new model of nonlinear electrodynamics with two parameters is investigated. We also consider a model with one dimensional parameter. It was shown that the electric field of a point-like charge is not singular at the origin and there is the finiteness of the static electric energy of point-like charged particle. We obtain the canonical and symmetrical Belinfante energy-momentum tensors and dilatation currents. It is demonstrated that the dilatation symmetry and dual symmetry are broken in the models suggested… Show more

“…the same property as in the ΛCDM model. The absence of singularities is an attractive feature which is connected with the particular NLE [11]. From Einstein's equation (7) and the energy-momentum tensor (2) we obtain the Ricci scalar…”

“…Here we consider the effective theory of nonlinear electromagnetic fields with the dimensional parameter β suggested in Ref. [11] and its influence on cosmology. The parameter β 1/4 possesses the dimension of the length, and there is the maximum of the possible electric field strength E max = 1/ √ β in the model under consideration.…”

“…For n = 1, our model reduces to FRW model [23]. With n, other than 1, our model generalizes [23], here we conclude that GSLT is not always satisfied in this class of NLE models given by Lagrangian density as in [22].…”

“…The NLE coupled with gravity may give the negative pressure and hence accelerate the universe [16,17,21]. The evolution of universe in the Einstein-NLE background prevent the initial big bang singularity [22][23][24][25].…”

“…In this paper we consider the NLE model, which is self-consistent and satisfies all natural requirements, coupled to gravitational field. That NLE equations depend on a dimensional constant β giving a maximum electric field strength [14]. Our goal is to investigate Einstein-NLE model and its influence on the evolution of universe.…”
