A Model of Innovation Activity in Small Enterprises in the Context of Selected Financial Factors: The Example of the Renewable Energy Sector

Abstract: One of the biggest problems of the modern economy is the depletion of traditional energy sources. Despite the fact that this problem was noticed several dozen years ago, steps to solve it were taken relatively recently. In December 2017, the European Union adopted a position on the directive, promoting the use of energy from renewable sources in all Member States. The EU has committed itself that by 2030, at least 27% of its energy consumption will come from renewable sources. On the one hand, it is a huge cha… Show more

“…After making predictions for a single financial ratio and assuming a uniform dataset structure, the advantage of this method is an indication of the direction and strength of independent variables that affect the dependent variable [35,76]. In addition, some methods develop a linear model, such as Logit and Probit application modeling [77,78] or artificial neural networks [79,80], which improve the overall prediction accuracy. On the other hand, the disadvantage of this approach is the assumption that the variables from which the explanatory variable values are estimated are independent.…”

“…On the other hand, the implementation of financial innovation from nonfinancial firms also had to be supported to reduce various challenges and barriers (Błach 2020). It could be seen that innovation was an important factor to determine sustainable development and played a leading role from a financial perspective (Kuś and Grego-Planer 2021).…”

“…Deploying innovation and disruption goes hand-in-hand with green energy initiatives. Faced with the challenge of changing climate damages, countries are working towards several development goals, strategies, and agreements, from the Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations 2030 Agenda with 17 sustainable goals, to the Paris Agreement, a treaty with the objective of economic and social transformation to be achieved through collaboration in financial assistance, technology development and transfer, and capacity building [13][14][15][16]. These strategies aim to incentivize countries towards a green energy change, from production to consumption, and replace the use of fossil fuels [17][18][19].…”
