A model of cell-wall dynamics during sporulation inBacillus subtilis

Abstract: To survive starvation, Bacillus subtilis forms durable spores. After asymmetric cell division, the septum grows around the forespore in a process called engulfment, but the mechanism of force generation is unknown.
