A micro‐macromechanical approach for analyzing creep in randomly oriented short fiber composites

Abstract: The main purpose of this research is to develop a model investigating creep phenomenon in polymeric composites reinforced with randomly oriented short fibers. The creep phenomenon is first analyzed in a representative volume element of a long‐fiber composites at the scale of micro through an implicit approach. Then, creep analysis is performed at laminate level as the macro‐scale analysis. Then, creep response of a quasi‐isotropic laminate is obtained where the outputs of the micro‐scale analysis are fed as in… Show more

“…Before heat treatment, the pores in the matrix specimen were mainly divided into three types: (1) The pore between deposited filaments caused by the loose arrangement of deposited lines within the layer (see Figure 11 F I G U R E 1 1 The microstructures of matrix specimens before and after heat treatment.…”

“…Therefore, it was particularly important to accelerate the creep experiment and establish the creep model [1][2][3] to predict the creep behavior. Creep is the most direct expression of the viscoelastic properties of polymers [4][5][6] and is also one of the main failure forms of material. Many engineering problems include creep 7,8 mainly exists in fan blades, bridges, parts and other places and has a great impact on safety performance of structure part.…”
