A micro hydro power plant for distributed generation using municipal water waste with archimedes screw

Abstract: Electrical power is stipulation of human life. Now-adays electricity is produced from number of sources like hydraulic energy, coal, steam, wind stream and nuclear power etc. Electricity generated by hydraulic power is cheapest and environment friendly. A large dam is mandatory to generate power in megawatt (MW), to build enormous dams need of large capital cost and hefty land reforms but renewable resources can be used for generation of electricity on small scale. Distribution generation (GD) can be produced … Show more

“…The tests were carried out in the Hydrodynamics towing tank laboratory, with a towing speed of 2.5 m/s (Figure 4). The analysis is carried out by comparing the results of the outrigger towing test on the towing tank with Equation 1 about the potential difference [6,10]: ε= NBAω (1) Where N is the number of loops in the coil, B is the magnetic field, A is the area of the loop and ω is the angular velocity.…”

“…Además, establecen que este tipo de tecnología tiene el potencial de ser utilizada para la electrificación rural en regiones en desarrollo con recursos hídricos confiables bajos. Raza et al.. [20] resaltan que la electricidad generada por la energía hidráulica es más barata y respetuosa con el medioambiente, además, establecen que los sistemas de microgeneración no conectados a red pueden utilizar aguas residuales y que la turbina más adecuada para una central hidroeléctrica de baja caída es la turbina Arquímedes.…”

“…According to the authors, this value is related to the problem of cracking welds, which connect the shaft with the spiral blades. The initial condition torque values come from the developed Archimedes turbine model with an assumed water flow rate from 0 to 2.7 m 3 /s [33]; while in [34], the authors assumed the water flow rate from 0.25 to 6.5 m 3 /s.…”
