E-learning platforms are valuable tools to support and enhance the learning and teaching process during online classes. Even though these platforms are already well-known and have been widely used for a long time, transitioning to fully online activities with a large number of users can lead to an exponential growth in resource usage. Moreover, the availability of these platforms becomes critical since the learning activities cannot be interrupted, and the vital information (assignments, grades, and shared resources) cannot be lost. Thus, the system administrators must implement a scalable solution to accommodate many users and activities. Determining the most suitable architecture is a non-trivial task that must consider the various tools, services, and interconnect options that are available. This paper presents our approach to setting up an integrated high-workload e-learning setup used for online classes in University Politehnica of Bucharest and can be used as a reference by other universities. The e-learning platform must accommodate around 35000 users and 11000 courses; thus, its management is not trivial. In this paper we present our approach to integrating all the services necessary for a responsive online platform and to automating e-learning management operations such as class creation and user course enrolments. Moreover, we present our testing methodology and the deployment of the proposed architecture, as well as the results we have obtained in production, especially during the time when all teaching activities were performed using online platforms.

Intelligent teaching platform integrates the respective advantages of network and traditional teaching and makes the teaching content develop in a diversified direction. However, due to the poor response performance of the platform, a multimedia intelligent teaching platform for children’s courses based on edge computing is designed. Construct the overall framework of the teaching platform under the edge computing, and get the functions that the platform needs to have. Set the authority and role of administrators, teachers, and children’s parents, respectively. Develop Android server and client, determine web server, define main parameters, evaluate the quality of teaching platform, and complete the design of teaching platform. The experimental results show that the platform responds quickly, provides users with good experience effect, and has good application performance.

In order to improve the accuracy and performance of classroom teaching effect evaluation, an intelligent teaching mode classroom teaching effect evaluation method is proposed. Based on the characteristics of intelligent teaching mode, an intelligent teaching effect evaluation index system including five indexes of basic quality, teaching attitude, teaching method, teaching ability and teaching effect is constructed. After obtaining the scores of each index by expert scoring, it is input into the cuckoo search algorithm extreme learning machine evaluation model and solved by objective function, obtain the final score of teaching effect evaluation. The experimental results show that the proposed method can effectively improve the evaluation accuracy of classroom teaching effect of intelligent teaching mode, and provide a new method for classroom teaching effect evaluation.
