A Method of Seamless Transitions Between Different Operating Modes for Three-Port DC-DC Converters

Abstract: This paper presents the design of three-port converters (TPCs) for smooth transitions (i.e., fast settling time, and no obvious overshoot/undershoot) of 7 distinctive operating modes, depending on sources and loads scheduling. Two viable converter configurations have been identified and selected for further analysis and design of PV-battery systems.
