A Method of Image Analysis for Primary Angle Closure Glaucoma

Abstract: The anterior segment of the eye is displayed on the video monitor using a slitlamp apparatus (slitlamp 75SL, Zeiss, Germany) combined with a video camera and the video image is then analyzed with a computer to convert the optimal image into the true image. The profile of the true image of the anterior eye segment allows us to estimate the pupil-blocking force, which is the posteriorly directed vector exerted in the iris tissue, according to Mapstone’s theory. In mensuration by digitizer on 3 occasions from a s… Show more

“…The tears are often small, and 87 % of tears occur in the ora serrata or the nonpigmented epithelium of the pars plana or pars plicata of the ciliary body in Schwartz-Matsuo syndrome [ 8 , 9 ]. The tears of the nonpigmented epithelium of the ciliary body were mostly located in the superotemporal quadrant followed by the inferotemporal and inferonasal quadrants [ 10 ].…”

“…[19][20][21] Various substances like growth factors, fibronectin, and so on are released into the aqueous humour after the surgery due to the breakdown of blood aqueous humour, which facilitates the proliferation and differentiation of the adhered LECs. [22][23][24] It would be worthwhile to further investigate the role of these live LECs in the incidence and severity of PCO. Our study may have clinical relevance in the context of both ACO and PCO.…”

“…Although there are several studies of quantitative ACD measurement, [10][11][12][13][14][15] their clinical usefulness is not consistent. The instruments or methods employed are expensive and difficult to handle, require complicated quantitative analysis, and have low reproducibility.…”
