“…Plate 2 shows the Chromatographie migration and the corresponding autoradiograph of a mixture of non-radioactive crystalline insulin and [131I]insulin indicating comparable migration of the two components when run in ascending paper chromatograms using the butane-2-ol : 1 % acetic acid (1:1, v/v) solvent system of Fenton (1959). After many paper chromatograms had been run most of the [131I]-insulin samples gave the same Rp value as that of the crystalline insulin, but trailing and an appreciable deposition of radioactivity at the origin was observed on many occasions.…”
