A method for portable PPG signal dynamic acquisition and denoise based on CEEMDAN and wavelet transform

Abstract: Photoplethysmography (PPG) is a non-invasive technology and widely used in medical monitoring. Nowadays, dynamic vital signs monitoring based on PPG technology is in emergence and shows great potential for commercialization, however, it is still challenged by massive noise evoked by respiration and muscle contraction. Herein, a portable PPG signal's dynamic acquisition and denoise system is constructed and applied to blood pressure (BP) estimation, in which an improved PPG denoise method based on complete ense… Show more

“…The proposed method has the lowest curve. Considering that conventional CEEMDAN-WTD have been applied to signal denoising [20][21][22][23], we used the CEEMDAN, CEEMDAN-hard thresholding, and CEEMDAN-soft thresholding algorithms to compare the effects of the improved method. Figure 7 shows the RMS R of the IMFs.…”

“…Noise within pulse wave signals predominantly consists of high-frequency disturbances alongside interference from baseline drift. The main methods for removing these two types of noise include adaptive filtering [1] , empirical mode decomposition [2] and wavelet threshold [3] . Krasimir et al [4] .…”
