A Method for Isolating Pressure-Depleted Zones With Solid-Expandable Tubulars

Abstract: A method for installing solid-expandable-tubular (SET) drilling liners across pressure-depleted zones has been developed and demonstrated. High overbalance pressures are known to interfere with conventional SET expansion. "Scoping" allows an expandable liner to expand and move downward while the inner work string and expansion cone remain still.
