A metallographic investigation of the effect of bonding pressure and surface finish on isostatic diffusion bonding of Ti-25Al-10Nb-3Mo-1V

Abstract: The performance of diffusion bonding is critically dependent on the surface finish and the bonding pressure holding the mating surfaces together for an appropriate time. Effects of surface finish and pressure on the bonding performance of Ti-25Al-10Nb-3V-1Mo super alpha two titanium aluminides were investigated at the temperature of 1000• C for 1 h holding time.
