Abstract: Preclinical and clinical studies suggest that lipid-induced hepatic insulin resistance is a primary defect that predisposes to dysfunction in pancreatic islets, implicating a perturbed liver-pancreas axis underlying the comorbidity of T2DM and MASLD.
